Why did plants never evolve to become something similar to animals, that is, plants that could walk, eat, run, fly, predate, etc.?

Plants don’t have the energy budget to support a heart and muscles to move around. Nor does their energy budget allow a brain with a nervous system.

A plant can typically convert 2–3% of the incoming sunlight to useful energy, and only when the sun shines.

Instead, they have evolved other strategies to survive, which are extremely successful since there are plants everywhere. 80% of the total bio mass are plants.

A few parasite plants feed on other plants, and some are even carnivores by using elaborate traps to catch prey, and then slowly dissolving it.
